Saint John’s Newfoundland

On our way to Saint John’s this morning, we saw a moose. We took back roads and for the most part where not too bad. By the time we got to just outside of Saint John’s things were starting to fog up some. So we made it an inside day. We went to the Johnson Geo Centre. It was quite informative and we saw two 3D movies, which lasted 45 minutes each. One was on the Deep Sea Challenger that was interesting and they went to the depth of 35,000+ feet. The second movie was on the Myths of Dragons. The rest of the center was all about Geology, and basically the formation of the continents from one single continent. And about how Newfoundland was created by glacier activity. No wonder we have seen 4 Icebergs since we got to Newfoundland. When we arrived you could not see Signal Hill from the Geo Centre due to the fog. And let’s not forget the 40 degrees temps and the 40 mph winds, I thought it was summer. After spending 4 hours in the Geo Centre the fog lifted just a little to get some pictures. However, before we left the parking lot the fog was getting heavy again and you could not see downtown Saint John’s. So now back down to a lower sea level, we took some back country roads to see more port and coves.
