Saint Anthony, Newfoundland

Well, today was rain and cloudy so we changed our plans and took a scenic drive that did not require a lot of getting out of the truck. We then extended that to take us all the way to our most northern point during this trip. We ended up in Saint Anthony, Newfoundland. Once again, it is a harbour town that had a lighthouse, of course. It also had two other neat attractions. One was Whale Watcher Trail, the other is Iceberg Alley. We did not see any whales today at least while we were there. The waitress at the Lightkeepers Seafood Restaurant said that there was some earlier in the day. I have see whales before so we were OK with that. However, the first thing we saw even two miles before we got to the lighthouse was an Iceberg. The same waitress said that they usually don't have them this late in the season. It just so happened that this one shows up early this morning and would be gone by tomorrow morning, unless it ran ashore. We ate dinner, I had halibut and Kathie had vegetarian chili. We then headed back to our home a 230 mile trip. On the way we saw a moose about 5 miles out of town. Then about another 10 miles from there, we had a second moose run across the road, so two moose in one day.
