Spending
Sometime in the Poconos
Today we went
to the Poconos taking the scenic route of US Highway 209, no commercial trucks
are allowed on the stretch through the Poconos that follows the Delaware River.
We did not see George Washington anywhere; he was not crossing the Delaware
today.
We went to
the Dingmans Falls and it was a nice walk through the forest and two nice
falls. The falls are the Silver
Thread Falls and the Dingmans
Falls. Pictures will follow at the end of the post.
On our way
back we wanted to cross the Delaware using the Dingmans Ferry Toll Bridge. However, it
has a 4 ton weight limit and the truck weigh 6.5 tons. The bridge was built in
1900 and before that it was a barge build by Andrew Dingman it was constructed
as a flat boat ferry, in 1740.
We are staying at Deerpark KOA, our friend Dee works here and we are visiting with her.
