Last day in
PA – Covered Bridge Trip and Visit to Emmaus, PA
Today we took
a tour of Berks and Lehigh Counties to view covered bridges. I will post a few
pictures of bridges and surrounding areas. We also drove through Emmaus, PA on
Chestnut Street, where as a nine year old I have some fond memories. I was
hoping to see the big two story house that my aunt lived in, sadly it is now longer
there. The bakery where my aunt use to get donuts (Emmaus Bakery) is still there, but sadly it
was closed on Mondays. We could not visit the bakery because it was closed. However, we did visit
Traub's Doggies - Hot Dogs and Ice Cream in Emmaus, PA

they had Nelson Dutch Farm Ice Cream and it was the smoothest and creamiest we ever had.
One last note if you look back at our older post from last year I would have to say that the Lancaster bridges are better maintained. We also missed the the Amish people and the horse and carriages they bring an old fashion touch that is nice to see.
