This winter was spent in south Florida, at a Palm Beach
County Campground called South Bay RV
Campground in the town of South Bay, FL. Before getting to South Bay we
stopped at Camp Blanding National Guard Base outside of Starke. Visit with
Horace and Barbara in Lake City, FL we also visit with Ben and Peggy in Earleton
FL. Then it was on to Lake Wales for RV repair, at Bryans Auto, Truck and RV Collision
and Repair Center. The repairs took some time so we were able to stay at CJ’s and Paula’s second home. Thank you CJ and Paula! After repairs it was on to
South Bay arriving Dec 6th.
We stayed in South Bay for 2 months, while there we visit
with Laura a friend I grew up with. We did things like dinners out, some
shopping. We spent one day taking a two tours through Lion Country Safari. We also
visited Busch Wildlife Sanctuary a
couple times, really like that place. We also took a weekend in January to go
back to Orlando to see CJ and Paula and to get them married on the 17th
of January, congratulations CJ and Paula.
Also, on a different weekend with CJ and Paula we took a
trip to Blue
Spring State Park to check out the Manatees. This is a nice state park and a
lot of Manatees and we took a river cruise.
As of this writing we are back in Starke, FL at Camp
Blanding the stay here will be about 40 days, with us leaving here on the 19th
of March. We have visited our friends in Lake City and Earleton while using
Camp Blanding as a home base. We were also able to visit a couple of great nieces
(Ashley and Shelby) while in the area.
When we leave here we will be going to Albany
Marine Corp Base in you guessed it Albany. While there we will take a side
trip to Planes and Americus, which is Horace’s birth place, as well as Jimmy
Carter’s.
We will leave Albany on the 26th of March and go
to Adairsville, GA for how long I do not know a month or may two. Have a few
doctors appointment to take care of to head for Newfoundland, Canada. I will give
another update after we leave Georgia.
